Ingredients

  • ½ cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup confectioners’ sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream ingredients. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until incorporated.
  4. Add dry ingredients. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and ½ cup confectioners’ sugar. Mix on low speed until dough forms.
  5. Shape cookies. Using a 2-tablespoon scoop, portion dough and roll each ball in confectioners’ sugar. Place about 6 cookies per parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake. Bake for 8–11 minutes, or until cookies no longer appear wet on top.
  7. Cool. Let cookies rest for about 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
