Our Dairy Education Programs

Bringing Science-Based Nutrition to Classrooms & Communities

At the St. Louis District Dairy Council (SLDDC), we believe learning about nutrition should be engaging, practical, and grounded in science. Our programs are designed to help school educators teach students why dairy foods play an important role in a healthy, balanced diet.

From classroom resources and interactive activities to school wellness grants and community outreach, our programs support lifelong healthy habits — starting early.  Our goal is simple: to personally stand behind dairy while standing up for the important place it has in student’s diets.

ADOPT-A-CALF

St. Louis District Dairy Council partners with local dairy farmers in Illinois and Missouri to bring the Adopt-A-Calf program into classrooms at no cost. Participating classes “adopt” a calf from one of our farmers, give it a name, and receive monthly photos and updates throughout the school year.
