Welcome to Ravendale Farm

Meet a Calf Your Classroom Can Adopt

I’m Farmer Meng, and I operate my family’s farm in Freeburg, Illinois. Ravendale Farm was founded in 1948, and I’m a third generation farmer.

One of the newest members of the herd is this calf right here. She doesn’t have a name yet, but if your classroom adopts her, you’ll get to name her and watch her grow with monthly photos and updates.

Just like many of the other dairy cows on our farm, she is a Holstein. She’s friendly and sweet, as many calves are.

If you’d like to adopt her for your classroom, click the link on the right. Once your adoption form is received, we’ll send you an adoption confirmation email that includes a photo of your calf and a video message from me.

Each month, we’ll send an email with a picture and update on your calf, along with fun, educational materials that help students learn about dairy farming and nutritious dairy foods.

Thanks for reading about our dairy farm and baby calf. We hope you’ll consider adopting her and follow her during her journey this school year.

About Ravendale Farm

A Third Generation Family Farm in Freeburg, Illinois

Ravendale Farm is a third generation family farm in Freeburg, Illinois with a history that goes back to 1948. Our family has spent decades caring for dairy cows and continuing the traditions of Illinois dairy farming.

Dairy Farming and Crop Production Working Together

In addition to caring for our milking cows, we also grow soybeans and corn that we use to help feed the herd. This connection between crops and dairy farming is an important part of how our farm operates and how we care for our animals each day.

Why Adopt a Calf for Your Classroom?

Adopting a calf is a fun and meaningful way to help students connect with agriculture, dairy farming, and animal care. Through monthly photos, updates, and educational materials, classrooms can follow the growth of a real calf while learning more about where nutritious dairy foods come from.

This classroom calf adoption experience helps bring farm life into the school year in a way that feels personal, educational, and memorable.

Meet This Friendly Holstein Calf

Holstein calves are one of the most well-known dairy breeds and are recognized for their black and white coloring. This calf is friendly, sweet, and growing every day. When your classroom adopts her, students can follow her journey and feel connected to life on a working dairy farm.
